Arranged over two floors, the cottage features a comfortable lounge for relaxing evenings, a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals, and thoughtful touches throughout to make your stay feel special. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and the other with two twin beds, each furnished with crisp linens and cosy bedding to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Standlow Farm sits just outside the village of Kniveton, which is between Ashbourne and Wirksworth, and close to Carsington Water.

From M1 (southbound):

  1. Leave at Junction 23A, following signs for the A50 towards Uttoxeter/Alton Towers.
  2. At Sudbury, turn off the A50 onto the A515 towards Ashbourne.
  3. Continue for about 8 miles until you reach the large roundabout as you enter Ashbourne.
  4. Go straight over the roundabout, across a mini-roundabout, then through the next traffic lights.
  5. At the next lights, turn left onto the B5035 (signposted Wirksworth/Carsington Water).
  6. Stay on B5035 for around 8 miles heading toward Kniveton village.
  7. Descend into Kniveton, passing The Red Lion pub (on your left) and the village church (on your right).
  8. Continue straight out the other side of the village, up the hill and around a bend.
  9. Just after the curve, turn left onto Standlow Lane at the sign for Standlow Farm Holiday Cottages.
  10. Follow the lane down, and you’ll arrive at Standlow Farm.

From M6 (northbound)

  • Leave at Junction 15, heading onto the A50 westbound toward Derby.
  • At Sudbury, exit the A50 onto the A515 toward Ashbourne—then follow steps 3–10 above.

From East Midlands Airport (29 miles away)

  • Exit EMA onto the A453, head north toward M1.
  • Join the M1 northbound, then exit at Junction 23A onto the A50 toward Uttoxeter/Ashbourne.
  • Then follow steps 3 - 10 above
