House and Facilities

Stainsborough Hall is a spacious country house designed for relaxed group stays, with plenty of room for everyone to spend time together as well as quieter spaces to escape to. You can find full details, photographs of Stainsborough Hall and floor plans by clicking here . This section covers the practical information you may need while using the house and its facilities (in alphabetical order)

Dishwashers

There are two dishwashers – one in the kitchen and one in the utility room.

Please scrape leftover food into the bin before loading the dishwashers and use only standard domestic dishwasher tablets.

Overloading the machines or placing heavily soiled dishes inside may prevent them from cleaning properly.

We ask guests to load and start the dishwashers before departure. Please don’t put plates that aren’t clean back into the cupboard – instead if you do run out of time please leave them on the side.

Furniture and Equipment

Please do not move heavy furniture, beds, televisions, the piano or the pool table.

Smaller items moved during your stay should be returned to their original locations before departure. Please lift furniture rather than dragging it across the floors.

Let us know promptly if anything is damaged, missing or not working correctly. Reporting an issue early often allows us to resolve it quickly and prevents it from affecting the rest of your stay.

Gardens and Outdoor Areas

Guests have use of the gardens and terraces immediately surrounding Stainsborough Hall.

Outdoor furniture may be used during your stay, but please return cushions to their storage area after use and do not move furniture between different parts of the grounds.

The wider estate includes private areas and accommodation used by other guests. Please do not enter the cottage gardens, courtyards, outbuildings or other areas not designated for Hall guests.

Children should be supervised throughout the grounds because there are ponds and water courses on the property.

Heating

Stainsborough Hall has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, with radiators in the upstairs bedrooms.

The underfloor heating works differently from conventional radiators and can take several hours to respond to temperature changes. The heating is programmed to keep the house comfortable, so please avoid repeatedly adjusting the thermostats.

Leaving external doors or windows open will make it much harder for the system to maintain the temperature.

Please do not alter the boiler or any controls in the plant room. Contact us if the house feels unusually hot or cold.

Kitchen Equipment

The kitchen is equipped for self-catering group stays, with cookware, crockery, glasses, utensils and the main appliances you should need.

Instruction manuals for some appliances are kept at the property. Please contact us rather than forcing any appliance or control that does not appear to be working.

Please use chopping boards, table mats and coasters to protect kitchen and dining surfaces.

Laundry Facilities

A washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are available for guest use in the utility room.

Please do not overload the machine. And please note that we don’t leave washing powder.

Piano

The piano is available for guests who are able to play, and we are very happy for it to be enjoyed during your stay.

Please supervise children around the piano and do not place drinks, decorations or other items on top of it. The piano must not be moved.

Please be considerate with the volume and avoid playing late at night.

Pool Table

The pool table is available for guests to enjoy during their stay.

Please keep drinks and food away from the table and ensure children are supervised. Cues and other equipment should be returned neatly after use.

Please do not sit on the table or place luggage or other heavy items on it.

Table Tennis

There is a table tennis table in the games room next to the tennis court. We do leave bats and balls for you to use during your stay. Please note this is a facility that’s shared with the cottage guests.

Television and Streaming

There is one television in the Main House. It is connected to Sky television and we do have the sports channels.

Guests may sign in to their own streaming services where supported. Please remember to sign out of any personal accounts before departure.

Should you experience any difficulty using a television, please check that the correct input or source has been selected before contacting us.

Tennis Court

Guests staying at Stainsborough Hall are welcome to use the estate tennis court.

The court is shared with guests staying in the Stainsborough Hall cottages, so please be considerate if others are waiting to play. There is no formal booking system.

Please wear suitable sports footwear and keep food, glass, bicycles and other equipment off the court. Children must be supervised.

A small selection of racquets and balls may be available, but we recommend bringing your own if tennis is an important part of your stay.

Wi-Fi

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the house via Starlink.

The network name and password are displayed on the notice board just inside the property and are also included in your arrival information.

Starlink generally provides a fast and reliable connection, although speeds may vary briefly during periods of heavy use or adverse weather.

Yoga Studio (coming in September 2026)

You’ll find the new yoga studio opposite the main house in the garage block and it may be used for yoga, stretching, exercise and quiet wellbeing activities.

Please remove outdoor shoes before entering and return any equipment neatly after use. The studio is not suitable for parties, ball games or amplified music.

Any external instructors visiting the property must be agreed with us in advance.
